Are you planning to attend St. FX University in September 2024?

If interested in being considered for one or both, see theINSTRUCTIONS section below.

Only ONE grade 12 student per school can be nominated for each of these (two students in total):

1. ST. FX Phillip W. Oland Scholarship Nomination

2. ST. FX J.P. McCarthy Scholarship Nomination Form

Each Scholarship is worth 24,000.00 (6,000/year x 4 years)

1. ONE nomination for each per high school. Must be nominated by School Counsellor/ Scholarship Committee

2. Superior Academic Standing / Minimum of 90% average (we can calculate this for you to confirm your eligibility).

Major scholarship eligibility is based on final marks for the five Grade 12 courses used to meet admission requirements for your program. Please note that final Grade 11 equivalent subject marks may be used in the interim to calculate the average.

3. You demonstrate (action verbs) the ST. FX qualities of leadership (below) and service to community.

• Strong organizational skills with an ability to manage time effectively, prioritize tasks, multitask, and meet deadlines. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and interpersonal skills. 

• The ability to motivate and lead others. 

• Enthusiasm and creativity. 

• The ability to work both independently and as a member of a team. 

• A passion for learning, especially self-directed learning. 

• Others that may apply but not be on this list.

INSTRUCTIONS TO SUBMIT YOUR NAME FOR NOMINATION CONSIDERATION

1. Email Your School Counsellor- Shawna Shiers at [email protected] with the following info in an email or a document in a list format (essay not required for this nomination unless by choice).

2. Name the scholarship(s) above for which you wish to be considered (hint...both?) 

3. Your full name

4. Your email address

5. Your St. FX student ID number - required to be nominated at this time (look at your application portal / your admissions emails or other ST. FX documents).

6. What Program have you been accepted to (Ex. Bachelor of Arts - Psychology/ Bach. Science in Nursing / Other

7. What are the 5 courses required to get accepted into your program? We will confirm this so please be as specific as you can (we have your marks on file to calculate).

8. Do you feel that you meet the min. 90% average / Superior academics?

9. In a list form Demonstrate how you reflect in action the qualities of leadership (see #3 above) or other leadership skills that you think of not on this list.

10. List activities School and/ or Community which reflect your involvement in community (list activity or organization by grades and / or years).

You will be sent an email reply to confirm receipt of your submission. You will be notified within 3-4 business days after this date of the final nominee chosen by the HERH scholarship committee.
